E-cigs are certainly invading the public world at an amazing rate. Part of the reason for this, is because companies have started to cater to the design and dazzle of e-cig designs, almost to the point it’s becoming a fashion statement of sorts. Enter V2’s Vapor Couture. V2 has fashioned these e-cigs as a slim, fashionable, elegant solution to your vaping needs. It’s no secret that these are catered towards the female vapers, as the website itself makes the target audience clear. However, does the style come with substance?

Build – 73 Good

These things are very slim!! It’s obvious that V2’s marketing department had images in their heads of the old Virginia Slim and Misty cigarette ads that had very attractive, elegant women using them. It’s been a notion forever that slim cigarettes are more attractive to women, and to an extent it’s true. However, there are two categories of female vapers. The first group is the serious female vapers…the ones that want a lot of taste, a lot of vapor, and have no problem experimenting to find the right combination. The other group of ladies are the ones that are casual vapors or ones just looking for a smoking alternative, and THIS is group Vapor Couture really targets.

As far as the product itself, the Vapor Couture is fairly standard. Snap 2015-02-08 at 21.51.29Outside of having a much thinner battery and cartomizer, the product feels just as a cig-a-like should. It’s hard to say how well built it feels, because of the thinner nature which obviously shaves a lot of the weight often associated with a good battery. Each design does offer an LED lit crystal tip at the end when you draw on it and offers different colors depending on the style.

Vapor – Usable 65

The Vapor Couture puts out a decent amount of vapor for its size. The problem is, as you would surmise with such a thinner cartomizer, that it’s just not going to give you many puffs before running out of juice. In my tests, it seemed the first 40-50 puffs were nice and then, diminishing returns. They don’t really specify an average puff count, but they do say that one cartridge should last about as long as a pack of cigarettes. This was NOT my experience. A pack of analogue cigs typically would last me a day or more. However, the cartridge seemed to run dry and tasteless about half of my day through with the e-cig. The next one I tried didn’t fair much better.

Draw – Usable 70

Vapor Couture offers a decent enough draw. Again, due to the thin nature of the battery and cartridge, it feels a bit too much like sucking through a straw to me. But the consistency is there and the resistance to airflow feels fairly good.

Variety – Usable 65

The starter kit allows you to choose from four different battery styles. Deep Purple, Brushed Platinum, Rose Gold, and White Signature are the options presented. Snap 2015-02-08 at 21.51.55To keep it stylish, ordering cartridges offers the same cosmetics. However, it’s in the flavors where this score suffers. Bombshell, Fresh Mint, Rodeo Drive, Passion Fruit, Strawberry Champagne and Arctic Mint are the available flavors. With only six options, there are really just not enough choices. Of course there’s always the possibility more will be released, but as it stands, this is it.

Pricing – Good 72

ThSnap 2015-02-08 at 21.35.12ere are currently five kit and pricing options, ranging from $39.95 for the Entrée Kit, to $199.95 for the Maximale Kit. The Entrée kit contains includes one rechargeable Vapor Couture Battery, six flavor cartridges, one Vapor Couture Smart Charger and one single-use Vapor Couture Disposable e-cig. Stating that the cartridges are so much thinner and get less use than most competitors, this hurts the pricing rating considerably. The nice sleek design choices and good build quality are what re-justifies the Vapor Couture as being a decent buy at the prices offered.

Overall – Usable 69.4
V2 is a great electronic cigarette company, but it’s unfortunate that their passion just doesn’t come through with the Vapor Couture product. It’s certainly not a bad buy, and I have had limited enjoyment with some of the flavors. It’s just that it feels almost TOO catered to looking stylish, sleek, and womanly, while sacrificing variety and quality.
