V2 has been selling e-juices for quite some time, and just recently added more products from its own brand that can use the e-juice without the cumbersome experience of trying to refill its cartomizers. We’re reviewing the V2 Cola flavored e-juice with 1.8% nicotine today. This was always one of my favorite flavors of their cig-a-like cartomizers. How does the actual juice stand up in review?
Vapor: 80 Good
The V2 Cola gives a decent amount of vapor. I personally added a drop or two of Vegetable Glycerin to add a little density to the cloud, but by itself you’re going to be pretty happy with the thickness and exhalation. I was using the V2 Pro Series 3 personal vaporizer to test this juice and came away fairly satisfied with the vapor result. I believe the juices are 100% PG, as that’s the only thing listed on the bottle, which certainly explains the nice throat hit as explained below.
Throat Hit: 92 Superb
This juice packs a punch! With a little more hit, I would probably have to classify it as too much, but as it stands, there’s no denying you’ve inhaled a juice with a kick. The juice seems to hit a bit harder than I remember it in its cartomizer form, but it ranks right up there with the feeling of smoking an analogue cigarette! Of course different folks enjoy different things, so if it’s too much for you I highly recommend a few drops of VG as I mentioned above to both give it more cloud and to cut the harshness of the throat hit. Also remember that my juice was 1.8% nicotine content, which is fairly middle-of-the-road, and possible to either increase or decrease with your order.
Flavor: 70 Usable
This is where I’m a bit confused. There are two factors here that combined, had me hoping for a high score in this category. First, I have vaped the V2 Cola cartridges before and at the time, it was one of my absolutely favorite flavors of V2 cartridges. On top of that, the fact that the juice is 100% PG suggests that the flavor would be very strong, since more VG often dilutes the flavor. Unfortunately, neither of these observations held up. I’m not sure whether it’s the V2 Pro Series 3 that I was vaping with or not, because I was getting quite a bit of vapor production, so certainly the flavor would have to be there right? Well not so much. I’ll be interested to see if vaping this juice in some other way lends itself better to the flavor, but since it’s usually optimal to vape the juices with the brand name vaporizer associated with it, I’ll have to contend that the flavor is just not prominent enough to call for a better score. As far as the taste itself, I’d certainly say you get the advertised cola-type flavor from it. I would lean more towards a Dr. Pepper taste than anything else. But it needs to be stronger!
V2 Cola e-juice had no discernible aroma to me and therefore we will not score this category, nor will it affect the overall score.
Price: 82 Excellent
V2 offers both 25 mL and 50mL e-juices with nicotine concentrations of 0% to 2.4%. The prices are $16.95 for the 25 mL and $29.95 for the 50 mL. In comparison with close competitors, V2 charges a bit more for their juices it seems. However, they are very nice bottles, each containing its own eye-dropper within the cap of the bottle.
Summary/Overall Score: 78.4 Good
The V2 Cola e-juice is a fine product from a very reputable company. While it certainly won’t qualify as an all-day-vape, its throat hit and vapor production will certainly please the senses. However, the above average price and lack of a strong flavor hold it down a bit.
Great throat hit. Decent Vapor.
Not very flavorful. Seemed better in cartridge form.
