Here we go with our detailed review of Greensmoke’s Menthol Ice cartomizer flavor. This is the flavor of choice that I used for my Greensmoke e-cig review and it’s one of their most popular pieces.
Vapor Score: 91 Superb
Greensmoke doesn’t really go into detail on its website about what it’s PG/VG level is (Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin respectively), but it’s suggested that though it does use a mixture of both, with Propylene Glycol being the primary ingredient. This makes sense, considering the vapor production of the Menthol Ice flavored cartomizer is pretty substantial when compared with most cartomizer offerings from other outfits. It’s testament to just how well Greensmoke has perfected its blend. Could there be more vapor? Well, there’s really no limit to how much vapor production we want as consumers, I just haven’t found a traditional e-cig that does vapor quite like Greensmoke.
Throat Hit: 85 Excellent
Greensmoke’s Menthol Ice provides a nice, smooth draw which ends with a nice solid hit in the throat. It could hit a bit harder, in my opinion, but the large amount of vapor more than makes up for it and keeps the draw pleasurable longer.
Flavor: 88 Excellent
I chose the 2.4% nicotine mix for this review and there’s a lot of flavor contained in this little unassuming cartomizer. I find it tough to compare this Menthol Ice flavor with any particular well-known flavor, as it doesn’t really taste like a menthol cigarette, yet still satisfies the minty craving. It’s almost more like a wintergreen gum flavoring to my taste buds, albeit with a bit of an icy aftertaste. It’s a VERY pleasurable vape. I don’t know that I could recommend it to someone looking for that menthol cigarette substitute, if they’re looking to match the taste exactly, but it is a great tasting vapor all its own.
Aroma: 75 Good
About the extent of any aroma you’re going to get from Greensmoke’s Menthol Ice cartridge is in the icy part of the flavoring itself. It’s not so much of a smell, as much as it is just a cooling effect to the nasal cavity. This is not a flavor that I will be inhaling through the nose too much, as it just doesn’t add too much to the taste itself. What you get from inhaling through the mouth is pretty much the same thing you’ll get through the nose. The fact that it CAN be inhaled back through, or out through the nose does say something for how smooth the vapor is.
Price: 89 Excellent
At the time of this review, one pack of five Menthol Ice cartomizers costs $12.99. Considering the lasting power of Greensmoke’s cartridges and the output of flavor, this is not a bad deal! Furthermore, the price of each pack is discounted almost $2.50 a pack if you order ten or more at one time, further discounted for bigger orders. On top of that, a subscription service is offered for every week to six-week period which will also cut the price-per-pack up to almost $1.00 more. Couple that with a Loyalty Program that gives you points per order, as well as a nice “Green” recycling program that also warrants you points, and it’s clear Greensmoke gives you multiple ways to save money while still offering some of the best vaping for the money.
Summary/Overall Score: 87.5 Excellent
The Greensmoke Menthol Ice cartomizer is a permanent staple of my weekly vaping habit! It’s amazing the amount of quality that goes into this product. If you’re looking for something to match menthol cigarettes though, it’s going to somewhat disappoint; It just doesn’t quite taste enough like a menthol analog cigarette. However if you have an open mind, want the freshness and minty blasts that roll out of every puff of this cartridge religiously, and don’t want to have to change cartridges three times a day, then Greensmoke’s Menthol Ice is a flavor highly recommended!
Lots of flavor with a very unique taste. Lasts a good while. Consistent vapor with every puff.
Doesn't really taste like menthol.
